2026-07-01 — accumulation day
Feeder day for the no-motivation state that flowered the following morning. Recorded in retrospect.
Events
- Café invite from an acquaintance to a social hub. The acquaintance suggested joining “because there are cool people to meet.” Denys asked how one actually meets them and what would keep the connection alive; concluded he isn’t good at it, disregarded the offer.
- Pattern candidate: default-decline on social-loose-tie offers when the mechanism of connection isn’t legible. Cross-link to any future entries about making-money / nature-business where the same reflex might block network-effect opportunities.
- Low pull toward work. Not much to do; also no motivation for optional/discretionary training or investigation. Space created but not used — see meta note under Meta-observation.
- Groceries — traffic aggression. Drivers gassing for no reason upset him. Then grocery-store crowd read to him as “immigrants, low-conscious, low-culture.” Sat inside a larger reaction: this is what this country is. Feeds directly into relocation.
- Rental-contract review. Full-day cognitive drain for a bureaucratic task. Ate the day even before it was formally reviewed at bedtime.
- Boxing — the arab-looking guy incident. During sparring/pads, Denys hit the guy on the head. Guy responded with: “you know I could knock you out if I want to, just a real one-punch.” Then hit Denys on the body a few times (Denys doesn’t remember it well). Denys’s response: “be nice, man, be nice, just be nice.”
- What’s still lodged in the head today: for a brief moment Denys believed him and listened. That’s the sticky part — not the guy, the momentary submission. Retrospective wish: push back or shove, signal it’s not okay.
- Not the first time with this kind of nationality. Denys notes friction with arab-looking / MENA-presenting men is a recurring pattern, not a one-off. See psyche-observation pattern candidate on this.
- Trigger candidate: an aggressive frame from a person Denys reads as beneath him produces momentary compliance rather than the response he’d endorse on reflection. Worth watching for repeats.
- Missile strike on Kyiv (news). Absorbed while getting dressed. Then reviewed the rental contract in that state — described as “super difficult, emotionally difficult.” Went to bed carrying both.
What made it heavy
Not any single event — the stacking of low-grade friction (traffic, grocery aversion, bureaucratic drain, sparring-frame incident, war news) with no counter-weight. Zero positive charge landed the whole day. The empty-work-window that could have been used for direction-setting was instead used for groceries and errands.
Threads to watch
- The current-country aversion is now on the surface twice (traffic + grocery crowd). If it recurs, promote to a note under relocation rather than sitting inside daily entries.
- The submission-to-aggressive-frame pattern is new here. If it shows up again in any form (work, family, strangers), it becomes a real thing — file it into psyche-observation as a named trigger.
