Thought inbox
Capture lane for ideas that pop up — including the half-formed ones Denys would otherwise lose.
Capture (two paths in)
- Brain dump file —
raw/braindump/YYYY-MM-DD-HHMM.md. Stream-of-consciousness, then ingest. - Quick item — phone or desktop one-liner (“idea: X”, “remember to check Y”). Claude appends it to the day’s inbox file
raw/braindump/inbox-YYYY-MM-DD.mdand timestamps it. No discipline required at capture time.
Processing
When asked to “process the inbox” (typically during a weekly-review or on demand):
- Read unprocessed items in
raw/braindump/inbox-*.md. - For each, decide one of:
- Discard (note in log, remove from inbox).
- Promote to a wiki page (entity/concept/synthesis as fits).
- Link into an existing hub page.
- Hold for one more week (max 2 holds; after that, force-decide).
- After processing, rename the inbox file with a
-processedsuffix so it’s clear what’s been swept.
Why a separate hub
Without an inbox, every passing idea either competes with the structured wiki (pollution) or evaporates (loss). The inbox makes capture fast and undisciplined; the processing step is what enforces discipline. The two phases must be separated in time.
